History of the most loved sport:

The British people have been pioneers in many different walks of life. One of the most important contributions to the world has been the "Football", which was first documented in the late13th century in England. Known by the rest of the world as Soccer, football is the most loved and popular sport among the British people. Therefore, it is no surprise that the game of football is the national sport of the United Kingdom.  .

In the UK there are a several types of football leagues:

The Premier League
The premier league was founded in 1992 after England's prime clubs had disassociated themselves from the football league. This step was done in order to increase income on the expense of the lower football divisions.

The Football League
The Football League is the oldest group in the world. Since 1992 the group has been ranked second place in the English football. The Football League consists of 72 member clubs which are evenly divided to three different divisions called the "Championship", the "League One” and "League Two".

The modern British Football is composed of several tournaments that take place during the year simultaneously; they include some of the most prestigious events in Europe.

• The FA Cup
The FA Cup is a national cup competition available to over 600 clubs ranking at the    top.

• The League Cup
The League Cup is known as the "Carling Cup", this competition which is England's second major cup tournament consists of 92 Premier Leagues competing for the title of the winning team. In addition the winning club will be qualified to play in the UEFA Cup, although both tournaments are considered to be extremely important.

• The FA Trophy
The FA Trophy as opposed to the previous tournaments above, this trophy is open to the top clubs from all national leagues.

• The Football League Trophy
The Football League Trophy is a competition created for the clubs in the Football Leagues One and Two.

Football has been for centuries an important part of the British national life style. As a direct result there are many different football teams that consist of this favorable sport. The wide selection of the clubs and tournaments supply to all fans the possibility to choose their favorite club and enjoy them in many different events during the year.
